EDEN

This was a project that two friends and I worked on for our second year of university. The story is inspired by the sci-fi novel "The Chrysalids" By John Wyndham.

Because of the pandemic, we were unable to complete the final animation so we were instructed to draw screencap-style frames from our project. Act 1 & 2 were done by my friends and I did Act 3, this is my work from the project.

Synopsis

Set in a world where those with differences (known as impures) are considered a blight on society that must be removed. Johnny, a 15-year-old boy with vitiligo ends up joining the resistance after finding out there were others like him. He and his new-found friends get captured after being discovered as impures during school. They awaken in IEU (Impure Extraction Unit) realising this is but one of the many facilitates impures are taken to after extraction. When the opportunity arises, they plan and execute their escape. With freedom in sight, they halted by a battalion of armed priests, knowing the only way out is to put their lives on the line. All hope seems to be lost when a mysterious light emanates from Johnny enveloping all in the vicinity. What is this mystical untapped power, and will the gang survive?...
